Intraoral Camera
Dr. Gopal uses an intraoral camera to better include you in the treatment process. This camera allows you to check out images of your mouth on a monitor, so you can actually see a treatment taking place and ask any questions!
Digital X-Rays
In addition to providing an excellent view of your mouth, digital X-rays are painless and reduce potential exposure to radiation by up to 80 percent. The images taken with digital X-rays can be closely examined on a computer screen. X-rays taken at different times can be compared with help from a highlighting application, which alerts Dr. Gopal to even the most minor changes in your smile. This helps her better keep an eye on any potential issues occurring with your smile!
Laser Cavity Detection
If left untreated, cavities can cause severe dental issues, including the loss of teeth. Dr. Gopal uses a high-tech laser to seek out any decay at a very early stage. She can then go about treating your tooth to stop the spread of decay and keep your entire mouth in great shape. This saves you time, money, and unnecessary discomfort.
Digital Scanners For Mouth Impressions
Dr. Gopal uses impressions of your mouth to help provide both excellent cosmetic dentistry and restorative dentistry services. However, she uses digital scanners to eliminate the discomfort typically caused by conventional impressions. Conventional impressions use a messy material that’s poured into a tray, which is then fitted over your palate. This often causes patients to gag.
A digital impression is made of your teeth using a scanner that’s painlessly placed into your mouth. It captures data which can then be reviewed immediately to speed up your treatment.
Another major benefit is that digital impressions can be retaken quickly if Dr. Gopal isn’t satisfied with the resulting images. If an error has occurred during conventional impressions, it’s difficult for a dentist to notice until a restoration such as a bridge, denture, or mouthguard turns out not to fit. Digital scanning instead lets Dr. Gopal know right away if something in the impression seems amiss.
ViziLite™ Oral Cancer Screening
Dr. Gopal uses a fluorescent light to look for abnormal changes in your mouth’s mucous membranes, which may indicate oral cancer symptoms. This is another pain-free and obviously beneficial tool.
Electronic Apex Locator
If you need a root canal, Dr. Gopal uses an electronic apex locator to determine the precise location and length of canals in your teeth. This is an essential part of the process, as Dr. Gopal needs to know exactly how long your canals are to make sure she gets rid of all damaged pulp that is causing your pain. The locator, therefore, ensures the job is done right the first time so your smile can quickly return to normal!
Picasso Soft Tissue Laser
To make sure you benefit the most from certain restorative services, such as dental crowns, Dr. Gopal may need to remove excess gum tissue. She uses a Picasso soft tissue laser, which gently and painlessly removes the extra tissue.
In each of our care rooms, we provide TVs with over 100 channels for you to check out while we treat your smile. You shouldn’t have to just stare at the ceiling and listen to whatever radio station we have on! If you do just want to relax with some music, we also provide headphones so you can soak up whatever tunes you want. However you choose to help the time go by, you can also request some of our soft pillows to stay extra cozy.
